Snacks!
Who doesn’t love a good snack?!
Whether your kids are finally away at school and you get to pack them a lunch and snack or they’re at home and constantly hungry, snacks are important. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and I don’t even know what to offer my kids! Now that I am homeschooling 3 kids and they are with me ALL THE TIME, I became more aware of how important food and specifically snacks are for their energy level and growing bodies.
Between homeschooling, gymnastics, therapies and soccer practice, snacks are common in our household.
As much as I love a fancy charcuterie board, I am more about simple, on the go, easy kids snack ideas. I thought I’d share my top 10 go to, easy kids snack ideas that even my pickiest eaters approve of.
10 Easy Kids Snack Ideas for Your Homeschool
1. Fresh fruit
Apples can stay fresh for what seems like forever, so do grapes. And those are readily available and inexpensive here in the US. Oranges and peaches are other two favorites for my kids.
2. Fresh veggies
Yeah maybe not all kids love their veggies but my kids love celery stick with peanut butter and cucumber slices with salt. And don’t forget how easy and delicious carrot sticks are. Add ranch to the mix and kids love veggies all of a sudden.
3. Fruit snacks
These may not be the healthiest but they are great on the go and a nice treat. They can also be substitutes for desert.
4. Granola/cereal bars
These are easy to have in the pantry or the car. Just make sure they are not the chocolate ones that can melt in the heat. Sometimes one of my kids will even eat a couple as his breakfast.

5. Banana bread, zucchini bread, pumpkin bread, lemon bread
These breads are so easy to make and so delicious. Slice them up and place in a container for easy reach. Or better yet make muffins for individual servings.
6. Tortilla with cheese (melted in microwave)
This is in no way an authentic quesadilla but it’s easy to make and pretty yummy. Kids can even make it themselves!
7. Store bought pre-made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
You’ve seen those at the grocery store in the freezer section. They are great for a fast, easy snack or small meal.
8. Microwave popcorn
My kids can make their own and microwave popcorn comes in so many flavors! An easy snack for in between meals.
9. Baby bell cheese
This is a favorite in my household!
10. Meat sticks (Costco brand)
If you have older kids or kids that like a little hardier snacks the meat sticks at Costco are a win. They are delicious!
