Christmas is almost here!
That means we can soon start our family tradition of an Advent Calendar!
Every year I have created my own and this year I would like to share it with you.
What is an Advent Calendar?
It is a calendar that usually begins on the 1st of December. It is a special calendar that counts down the days until Christmas.
It can take many forms and there are different ones you can buy in-stores and online. I mean just look at all the ones Amazon has to offer!
The one I am sharing with you today I created for my son and this year all three of my kids will be participating.
Each day starting December 1st has a different assignment. The assignments or tasks are a combination of things you can do as a family together, and things you do for others to show kindness.
I like to do a combination and it has worked out well for my family.
I have to confess. Every day is not a perfect day and sometimes we can’t even get to the task. But my kids love the countdown and love opening up each day’s note to see what they need to do that day.
You can get the Advent Calendar printout and all the other fun Christmas printables by subscribing below.
Here is how it works:
Each ornament on the tree is a day on the calendar. Once the day comes your child can color it in, decorate it, cross it out, ect, and the next day connect it to the previous day. It will start to look like a garland as the days go on.
You will assign the activities to the days. I have a list of 24 activities for your family to participate in each day. But depending on your family and schedule you can decide what is best to do and when.
Some of the activities include watching a Christmas movie, reading Christmas books, or baking cookies.
Here are some of my favorites that I recommend. I’m sure you have your own. What are your family favorites?

” And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:8-11
